While it is undeniable that Philosophy is fundamental, some concepts are too abstracts to be applicable on a daily basis.
What philosopher/philosophy would you suggest to people who'd like to deal with common and concrete problems (stress, anxiety, sadness etc.) ? For instance, Roman philosphers and stoic thinkers have written substancial pieces that are still highly relevant today. What do you think ?
Epictetus, a Greek Stoic philosopher, has helped me all my life. While I have read it a thousand time, I still learn a lot from The Enchiridion - short life of Stoic advice.
It is quite impressive to see how accurate his advice are. Regardless of the centuries that have passed, he is still highly relevant and reading those lines have been really useful!
