Donald Trump is one of the most controversial U.S president - his administrations's foreign policy, the way he handled COVID - 19, the capitol protests etc. On the other hand, other people think that Trump managedto give back a sovereignty to the U.S. - America first. He was the only U.S President on the last decade who succeeded to generate a growth of 4% (before the COVID - 19).

Donald trump may of been the most controversial president this century. But let’s look back at presidents from only the last century.
President Woodrow Wilson: held a showing of the “birth of a nation“ in the White House in 1915. he said “it’s like wiring history with lightning, my only regret is that it is all so terribly true“ by the way the birth of a nation is called the most racist movie in Hollywood. i mean when we talk racist presidents, pre civil rights presidents make Donald trump look like an angel haha.
As you say in your description Donald Trump succeeded to straighten the U.S economy. I want to give you some numbers to be more clear on the way that Trump has managed the U.S economy recovery. At the end of the mandate of Obama the unemployment was 6.6% and at the end of Trump just before the COVID-19 it was of 3.3% either the lowest since 50 years. The american growth was more than 4% just before the covid. An other point in favor of Trump is this ability to be hard in negotiation such as with China. Trump is maybe the first President in western countries to oppose of China exportation. Even if this economy war with China did't have some results in terms economics at least Trump showed to the World that the U.S will stop to approve anything from China. Furthemore, Trump succeeded to unify on part of the U.S which was forgetten from the U.S politics for decades. Trump has given a new way to do politics. For all these reasons, Trump was not a bad president. We don't have to foreget that many people voted for Trump because they can't accept anymore to see all american stars such as Miley Cirus, Dicaprio... to give moral lessons as the same time living in 5 stars hotel.
I do not think that Donald Trump is as bad a president as the media makes him out to be.
It would be an understatement to say that his behaviour was, at times, childish, or even racist, misogynistic, whatever you want to call it. However, during his presidency, there was an increase in employement, revenue, so it would be false to claim that his impact on the economy was bad, and his international policies kept most countries out of trouble. Moreover, it is true that many people looked up to him, in a way that has not been done in years. He became the symbol of America, and whether you think it was a positive or negative image does not matter as any form of publicity is power.
In addition, the way he acted and behaved was not out of foolishness, as some people make it out, but as a way of empathising with most American people. Whether he was racist misogynistic or even republican does not matter, what matters is that he was a man that most American people could look up to. With the rise of a poor and lower middle-class population, such a president was bound to come, in my opinion. Donald Trump was what most people wanted. He was an opportunist like any other, he was just a mirror of the American majority (unfortunately), which is the only reason why he ever even became president.
The question I think we should better ask ourselves then is: how do we avoid another Donald Trump?
