Nowadays, there seems to be a general consensus asserting that rather than being “bought“, a pet should be “adopted“.
This means, in other words, that a pet should not be treated as a “toy”, but rather as a child.
Throughout most countries in the world, buying and selling a pet is legal and does not require a professional Breeder’s license.
However, many have, according to numerous pet associations and charities, ”abused” the law with respect to pet trade by buying pets then reselling them very quickly, in order to make a decent profit of cash, sometimes huge.
Is it immoral for an individual to buy and resell a pet considering that professional pet breeders also make a living out of selling pets ?
The problem is that people want pet, and that push them to juge other who lives from it. If we stop breeding those species would stop existing. That is the same for livestock. It is important to bring awareness to the condition in which they operate, but not all of them are bad. Shocking video on YouTube is not the only reality.
